Dr Innocent Maja is the senior partner with the law firm. He holds a Bachelor of Laws Honors Degree from the University of Zimbabwe, a Master of Laws in Human Rights and Democratisation in Africa and a Doctor of Laws Degree specializing in International Human Rights from the University of Pretoria.
Innocent has considerable experience in international human rights law, the law of contract, commercial law, corporate law, conveyancing, intellectual property, labour law, litigation and alternative dispute resolution. Innocent has been teaching the law of contract, commercial law and intellectual property at the University of Zimbabwe since 2004.
He has published ‘The Law of Contract in Zimbabwe,’ a leading text being used as authority by judges in judgments, lawyers, academics and students. He has also published texts on the right to freedom of expression as well as numerous articles on minority rights, minority language rights, death penalty, international terrorism, freedom of expression, etc.
Innocent also offers consultancy services in company law, international law, human rights law, legal research, entrepreneurship, business strategy, real estate investment, finance, motivation, goal setting and speaking. In 2016, the World Bank appointed Innocent the technical advisor to the team Drafting the new Zimbabwean Companies Act. Innocent was also the lead expert in the drafting of the Zimbabwean Languages Bill. He serves on various boards including World Vision Zimbabwe, International Bridges to Justice, Life Ministries.
